St Peter’s is currently closed for public worship
Due to restrictions caused by the outbreak of the coronavirus [COVID-19] and so as to protect those who are the most vulnerable, the Archbishops of Canterbury and York have issued advice that public worship is to be suspended until further notice. Accordingly, St Peter’s Church is currently CLOSED for all public and private worship.
Whilst the restrictions remain in place, we will be posting a ‘Thought for the Day’ each Sunday on the church website, together with some suggested prayers and links to other resources that may offer spiritual guidance, sustenance and nurture. And throughout the week the Rector, together with others in our leadership team, will be praying each day for our village, country and the world. So, please email any prayer requests you may have to the Rector at: firstname.lastname@example.org
Whilst the restrictions are in place the following resources may be of assistance to you:
Each day the Church of England offers daily prayers online at: https://www.churchofengland.org/prayer-and-worship/join-us-service-daily-prayer
Or if you prefer just a single prayer for the day, this can be accessed at: https://www.churchofengland.org/prayer-and-worship/join-us-daily-prayer/todays-prayer
And all Church of England services of Daily Prayer are available in both contemporary and traditional forms and for all times of day as a prayer app – just search ‘Daily Prayer’ and download for free in either Apple or Google Play.
Anyone who is in need of a practical hand with something simple is always very welcome to contact our ‘At your Service’ project on either 892442 [Jill Veasey] or 892307 [Jonathan Summers]. If we are able to help, we would be very pleased to do so. And for anyone who is lonely, struggling, housebound or just in need of someone to chat with, our Pastoral Care Team can be contacted on 892332 [Rev. John Crutchley] or 892117 [Sue Laker] or 891047 [Kathy James].
We are called to pray for and to serve EVERYONE in this village. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you think that we can be of any assistance to you or anyone locally you know.
